At Mean Bean Coffee, we take pride in the quality of our coffee. If you’re not happy with your purchase, we’re here to help. This policy outlines how refunds and returns are handled for all coffee products and related merchandise.
2. Returns
Due to the perishable nature of coffee, we generally cannot accept coffee returns once the bag has been opened.
However, we want you to be satisfied — please see our quality assurance section below.
Accepted Returns (if applicable):
- Unopened, unused coffee products returned within 14 days of delivery.
- Defective or incorrect items (wrong roast, damaged packaging, etc.).
- Merchandise (e.g., mugs, apparel) in original condition and packaging.
Return Process:

- Provide your order number and reason for return.
- We’ll issue a Return Authorization Number (RA#) and instructions.
- Ship items back using a trackable method.
- Once received and inspected, we’ll notify you about your refund.
Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the return is due to an error on our part.
3. Refunds
Eligibility:
- Refunds are considered for unopened products returned within 14 days.
- If a product is defective, damaged, or incorrect, a refund will be issued.
Refund Method:
- Refunds will be issued to the original payment method.
- Allow 7–10 business days for the refund to process after we receive the returned items.
Partial Refunds:
We may offer partial refunds for:
- Items not in original condition.
- Products returned after the allowed window (at our discretion).
4. Quality Assurance
We stand by our coffee. If your product:
- Smells off, tastes rancid, or
- Arrives with severe defects
please contact us immediately. We may request a photo or sample to investigate.
We may offer:
- Replacement bag
- Store credit
- Partial or full refund
5. Exceptions
- Opened coffee bags generally cannot be returned due to freshness and food safety.
- Gift cards, digital items, and wholesale orders may follow separate policies.
6. Exchanges
We currently do not offer direct exchanges for coffee products.
If you’d like a different roast or product, please return the original item (if eligible) and place a new order.
