Eoin’s love for all things coffee led to him taking a almost a year out so he could find the right beans and the right blends that would yield a product, whose quality could match his passion. The Mean Bean Coffee blends were then designed and carefully selected with an award winning coffee roaster.

Eoin and his team provide barista training to all customers, whether they be in a cafe or club - to make sure that every cup of Mean Bean will be made to perfection.

What are we all about

Mean Bean Coffee is one of Ireland’s strongest coffee brands, with a large client base from cafés, restaurants, pubs, factories, hospitals, sports clubs and many more besides. The company was formed in 2013 by Eoin McGrath, who brought five years of impassioned coffee experience to the Mean Bean name, and it has gone from strength to strength ever since.

Based in Waterford City, Mean Bean Coffee  covers the length and breadth of Ireland, providing premium quality coffee beans, coffee machines as well as machine service and  maintenance.

Mean Bean provides everything for the coffee customer including premium coffee blends,  Espresso and Automatic Coffee machines, machine service,coffee accessories  and barista training for all of our customers with include  restaurants, cafés, hotels, service sector and many more.

“Aside from hurling, coffee has always been my passion,” Eoin explains. “The taste of a perfectly made coffee is impossible to beat”. I worked in the industry for a long time but my ambition was always to go at it alone”.  “I wanted to create a coffee company that offers each customer my  knowledge of coffee but  with a service that  is second to none”.

  • I can't recommend Mean Bean highly enough; we have always provided free coffee for our employees and our previous provider was not local. When it came time to renew the contract I shopped around and was pleasantly surprised to find Mean Bean provided the most value. That was only the beginning. The service the guys provide is second to none. I never realised what we were missing out on. The guys are only ever a phone call or email away. They often check on the machine and see if we need anything. The quality of their beans and machines are amazing. Not to mention their knowledge of coffee. We will be using them for many years to come. True professionals!
